Impact of the early insertion program in the Dental Clinic on the development of skills and competences: student-teacher perspective
Keywords:
Odontology, clinical practice, insertion program, clinical skills.Abstract
This study is about the benefits of an early insertion program to the dental clinical practice of dental students. Positive effects on clinical skill development, student confidence, and career readiness were examined. The methodology included the participation of both teachers and third- and fourth-year students who participated in practical sessions supervised by teachers during the preclinical stage. The results allow us to conclude significant improvements in the clinical competence and self-confidence of the students, from the perspective of the students and teachers, highlighting the effectiveness of this program in initial dental training.
