Currently, most of the world is affected by COVID-19, the fear, stress and anxiety of contracting the disease through known transmission routes has been important for the establishment of preventive measures in order to avoid its spread; and in effect the social distancing taken by several countries in the world has generated optimal results for the control of the disease (Wang et al., 2020; Portocarrero & Álvarez, 2020).
Dentists, as oral health care professionals, are a population at high risk of infection and dissemination of COVID-19, since the generation of aerosols from various procedures during clinical practice generates the rapid spread of this disease. Therefore, it is important to highlight minimal intervention dentistry as an effective measure to control and prevent the spread of COVID-19 in current clinical practice (Al-Khalifa et al., 2020).
