Influence of the United States on Political and Economic Relations in Latin America in the 21st Century

Abstract

This article analyzes the influence of the United States on the political and economic relations of Latin America during the period 2001-2025. Through a comparative approach, the cases of Mexico, Colombia, Brazil, and Venezuela are examined to identify the main forms of influence and the responses of these countries.

The study also incorporates different theoretical perspectives to understand the complexity of these relationships in the contemporary international system. The findings indicate that U.S. influence remains significant, although it has undergone important transformations.
