We live in an era of increasingly blurred borders, where globalization, migration, and new technologies accelerate cultural encounters and transform the ways we communicate. Amid these changes, Spanish continues its journey, adopting new forms, meanings, and voices that reflect the diversity of Latin America and the memory of those us who live in the region it. This article explores the Spanish language as a living and ever-changing entity, deeply connected to Latin American identity. Through the metaphor of the “ink animal,” it reflects the language’s origins, transformations, and capacity to endure through time.
