Abstract

The main objective of this research is based on demonstrating the efficiency, safety and behavior of patients,
who have regular snoring and sleep disorders, at the moment of using the mandibular advancement device.
This research is supported by the application of diagnostic methods and the use of a mandibular advancement
device that was created by the first author of this article.
The signs and symptoms of snoring patients are evaluated such as daytime sleepiness and medical history like
high blood pressure, asthma and heart disease, identifying the relation and incidence of snoring associated with
risk factors. Besides that, regular sleep problems are described before and after the use of the oral device (snores
heavily, insomnia, night sweats and breathing pauses).
The decrease and disappearance of snoring was noted when using the oral device. Patients found out that the
use of the intra oral device decreases discomfort and helps to the daily and general behavior by improving their
lifestyle.

The study subjects say that the main result has been the reduction of snoring, helping out to the bed partner
to sleep better. On the other hand, the perception of sleep that patients reflect is being improved on their sleep

time. Devices do not heal the sleep apnea/hypopnoea syndrome; however they can relieve all symptoms
associated with it and reduce some of the pathophysiological consequences in a sufficient degree. Devices
constitute a therapeutic alternative for sleep apnea syndrome and regular snoring people.
