Endodontic considerations in patients undergoing chemotherapy and radiotherapy

Radiation therapy and chemotherapy is one of the main treatments for cancer, head and neck, which is used
both as a single therapy or combined modality. These procedures cause consequences both in terms of oral
cavity such as dental surrounding organs and tissues, as systemically. It is for this reason that in endodontic
management of these patients should be as careful. Furthermore chemotherapy drugs can not detect the
difference between cells in normal tissues reproduction and cancer cells, leading to damaged normal cells and
cancer cells with.
