The United Nations Model as a Guarantee to Promote Change

Abstract

On July 21 and 22, 2025, the United Nations Model for the second academic term was held at Universidad Latina de Costa Rica. This event serves as a valuable tool for students interested in diplomacy and constructive debate, as it promotes dialogue, the search for collective solutions, and exposure to diverse perspectives. Beyond its academic value, it helps participants develop skills such as publicspeaking, negotiation, and teamwork. This leads to key questions: how did these models originate? How did they arrive in Latin America? How do they work? And why are they so important today?
