Trade Between Costa Rica and Africa: A Reality Without Free Trade Agreements?
Abstract
Since the 1990s, Costa Rica began a process of insertion into the world economy through the promotion of exports. This has led to the negotiation and signing of multiple free trade agreements with countries of the American continent, but also outside of it. Despite the commercial dynamism of Costa Rica's exports and imports -to this date- no commercial agreement has been announced, negotiated or signed with any country on the African continent. In this sense, it is valid to think that our country has no interest in the commercial opportunities that arise with multiple African countries, however, market studies and the same annual statistics reveal
another reality.
