Journal History
The Academic Journal Gaudeamus has existed for more than a decade. Regarding its exact origins, it is known that it was founded by a group of professors between the late 2000s and the early 2010s. For a certain period, it experienced a peak of activity, but this gradually declined, possibly due to changes in faculty members and the progressive abandonment of the journal. As a result, by the 2020s it was practically unknown within Universidad Latina de Costa Rica.
In this context, in 2025 a group of International Relations students, with the authorization of the program director, Mr. Daniel López Zúñiga, decided to relaunch the journal. Reforms were introduced, including adjustments to the regulations, the creation of social media accounts, and some changes to the website, in order to modernize it and make it more interactive and well-known among students. A name change is even being considered, since Gaudeamus is not widely recognized by students and many feel somewhat disconnected from it
