Individual freedoms and citizen security in times of pandemic

Abstract

The Covid-19 pandemic caused significant changes in world reality, and this implied the creation of new powers for the Governments. One of these different tasks was carried out by the police forces, who became auxiliary instruments of the health authorities and, therefore, their tools traditionally used to protect security and public order were put into service to protect public health.
