Gender inequality in the field of scientific research in Mexico

Abstract

Despite the evolution of social and family dynamics, the participation of women in the professional sphere is lower than in the case of men. This situation occurs in various settings, one of them in the field of scientific research. In Mexico, a lot of public policies and regulations have sought to eradicate this problem, but national statistics still reflect inequality for reasons of gender. This research aims to identify the main factors that have motivated this behavior in the field of the National System of Researchers of the National Council of Science and Technology of the country.
