Abstract

Studying the nursing profession’s evolution is essential to understand the situation in which it is in nowadays’ society. In the history are the causes of most current situations and can be understood those ones that generated these different behaviors to improve, modify, or build a change according to the development of society and its needs. If its origin is unknown, it will be difficult to identify where it is, and where it should go. Nursing, like other professions, is a social product that take shape in accordance with the circumstances of the times. This article also reviews three important aspects that should guide the training of future nursing professionals. A competence- based curriculum is implemented by using a controlled practice in the use of simulators and teamwork as a way to integrate future working environments.
