Plagiarism detection and similarity report
Plagiarism Detection Policy
The journal Odontología Vital is committed to strict adherence to national (Costa Rican) and international ethical standards in all processes related to scientific publication. Accordingly, it adopts the guidelines issued by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) and uses Turnitin software as a tool for detecting similarity and potential cases of plagiarism.
Upon identifying plagiarism, Odontología Vital applies the procedures recommended by COPE, available at the following link: http://publicationethics.org/files/All_Flowcharts_Spanish_0.pdf
The responsibilities of the stakeholders involved are detailed below:
Editors:
They are responsible for the comprehensive oversight of the editorial process, ensuring compliance with the highest ethical standards. They guarantee the assignment of reviewers with expertise in the manuscript's subject matter and ensure transparent and accessible communication of the Publication Guidelines for Authors.
Authors:
Authors are responsible for presenting results derived from rigorous, transparent, and ethical research. They must describe their methodological procedures in sufficient detail to allow for verification, replication, or refutation by the scientific community. They agree not to submit the manuscript simultaneously to more than one journal and to declare funding sources and potential conflicts of interest. They also assume the obligation to issue corrections or retractions when the situation warrants it.
Reviewers:
Reviewers agree to promptly report any indication of fraud, plagiarism, or ethical irregularities detected in the manuscripts they evaluate. They must refrain from using the information contained in these texts until they are published by Odontología Vital. Their evaluative work is expected to be rigorous, objective, and completed within the established deadlines, substantiating their observations and providing recommendations aimed at strengthening the academic and methodological foundation of the manuscript.
